UkraineFest Returns to Swindon as one of the UK’s largest Ukrainian Festivals

Swindon Welcomes Ukraine has confirmed the return of UkraineFest, taking place on Saturday 23rd August 2025 at Town Gardens, Old Town, Swindon. Under the banner “Stand With Us”, the event invites everyone to join in a powerful show of solidarity and celebration with Swindon’s Ukrainian community. The timing of UkraineFest is especially significant, falling the day before Ukrainian Independence Day, creating a unique opportunity for Ukrainians and local residents to come together on the eve of Ukraine’s most important national holiday.

UkraineFest has become one of the largest Ukrainian festivals in the UK, with last year’s event drawing over 4,000 people from across Swindon and beyond. The festival is supported by Swindon Borough Council’s Warm Welcome team, who continue to provide vital support to the more than 500 Ukrainians who have arrived in Swindon through the Homes for Ukraine scheme since 2022.

This year’s UkraineFest will feature a full day of entertainment, including headline performers, Ukrainian bands, dance groups, choirs, folk ensembles, and cultural demonstrations. A dedicated children’s area will offer hands-on workshops and activities introducing traditional Ukrainian crafts, making the event inclusive for all ages.

Visitors can sample a wide selection of authentic Ukrainian food, such as borscht, varenyky (dumplings), traditional pastries, and Ukrainian-style barbecued meats. Artisan stalls will sell Ukrainian crafts, embroidery, and souvenirs, giving attendees the chance to directly support Ukrainian makers and artists.

“UkraineFest isn’t just a festival, it’s an invitation to stand with us, to learn, and to show solidarity,” said Anastasiia Banatska, Chair of Swindon Welcomes Ukraine. “With Ukraine’s Independence Day so close, it’s the perfect time to come together as a community.”

“This year we’re planning our biggest event yet, with headline acts and more activities than ever before,” said , Kris Taikowski Vice-Chair of Swindon Welcomes Ukraine. “UkraineFest 2025 will be a day to stand with us, celebrate together, and share hope.”

Further details on performers, activities, will be announced in the coming weeks. Visit the link below for more information
